Sapporo Symphony Orchestra Terms and Conditions

The public interest incorporated foundation, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra (hereinafter referred to as the "Orchestra") hereby states these Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as the "Terms and Conditions") regarding the attending performances sponsored by the Orchestra, the following provisions shall be made between the visitors (hereinafter referred to as "visitors") who attend the performances of the Orchestra.

Chapter 1 General Provisions

Article 1 (Purpose)

The purpose of these Terms and Conditions is to stipulate matters related to the appreciation of performances sponsored by the Orchestra, and thereby to ensure the smooth progress of performances and the safe and peaceful attending of visitors.

Article 2 (Definitions)

In these Terms and Conditions, the following terms have the meanings set forth in each item.

  1. (1) "Venue" means the venue where the performance is held, and "venue manager" means the entity that manages and operates the venue.
  2. (2) "Performance" means a concert organized by the Orchestra.
  3. (3) "Ticket" means a voucher issued by the Orchestra or a person entrusted by the Orchestra for admission to the venue and attending of a performance, including paper tickets, QR tickets, electronic tickets, etc.
  4. (4) "Attending Contract" means the part of the ticket that is integrated with the ticket (in the case of a ticket other than a paper ticket, the part that is integrated with the ticket). Admission to the venue at the stated date, time, and place, as well as the seat or place designated by the ticket (hereinafter referred to as "Seats, etc."). It refers to a contract related to the attending of a performance.
  5. (5) "Authorized Ticket" means a ticket obtained directly by the person who wishes to attend the ticket directly from the Orchestra or a person designated by the Orchestra, or from a third party as stipulated in the proviso to Article 4.

Chapter 2 Admission Contract

Article 3 (Conclusion of Contract)

The admission contract shall be concluded in accordance with these Terms and Conditions when the person who wishes attend and obtain an official ticket. The visitor shall obtain a ticket for the performance after agreeing to watch and listen to the performance in accordance with all the provisions of these Terms and Conditions, enter the venue, and attend the performance, and without consent, he or she shall not be able to do any of the same.
Those who have a regular ticket may enter the venue and watch and listen to the performance in their designated seats, etc., in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and the conditions announced in advance by the Orchestra.

Article 4 (Prohibition of Resale, etc.)

No one shall transfer the ticket to a third party without the permission of the Orchestra. However, this does not apply to transfers based on family, friends, or other specific similar relationships that are not for the purpose of profit and are not carried out as a business.

Article 5 (Reasons for Refusal of Sale)

The Orchestra and related organization will not sell tickets to any person who falls under any of the following items.

  • A member of an organized crime group, a person related to an organized crime group, or a person who belongs to other antisocial forces.
  • A person who has violated these Terms and Conditions in the past and has been denied admission by the Group.
  • Any other person who we judge to have a reasonable reason for not selling tickets.

Chapter 3 Appreciation

Article 6 (Entry and Exit)

Visitors may enter the venue from the time specified by the Orchestra, and when the performance is over, the staff of the Orchestra or a person equivalent thereto (hereinafter referred to as "Staff of the related organizations, etc.") shall be allowed to enter the venue. You must promptly leave the venue.
Visitors must comply with these Terms and Conditions and other precautions stipulated by the Orchestra and follow the instructions given by the staff of the Orchestra when attending the performance.

Article 7 (Prohibited Items)

No one shall bring any of the following items into the venue without the prior permission of the Group.

  1. (1) Firearms, swords, fireworks, firecrackers, deleterious drugs, and other dangerous goods.
  2. (2) Objects that may interfere with the appreciation of other spectators.
  3. (3) Pets and other animals (excluding assistance dogs).
  4. (4) Other items designated by the Orchestra or the venue manager.

The Group may conduct baggage inspections for spectators.

Article 8 (Prohibited Acts)

No person shall engage in any of the following acts without the prior permission of the Orchestra.

  1. (1) Occupying a seat other than the designated seat, or hanging out in an aisle, staircase, doorway, etc.
  2. (2) Acts that damage the facilities or goods of the venue.
  3. (3) Intimidation, violence, slander, or other acts of harm to other visitors, performers, staff of the troupe, etc.
  4. (4) Acts that may endanger the life, body, or property of oneself or others, such as breaking into the stage or throwing items from the audience seats.
  5. (5) Acts that violate the provisions of these Terms and Conditions and the instructions of the staff of the Orchestra.
  6. (6) Entering or attending in a state that causes discomfort to other visitors, such as extremely filthy clothes or foul odors, which cannot be overlooked.
  7. (7) Acts that interfere with the performance and the appreciation of other visitors, such as making loud or strange noises, using musical instruments or other sounds.
  8. (8) Acts that interfere with the other visitors, such as entering the venue while intoxicated or drinking excessively in the venue.
  9. (9) Filming, videography, and audio recording (including those made by smartphones, smart watches, and other devices) .
  10. (10) Business acts, proselytizing or solicitation of religious groups, or advertising acts of political organizations.
  11. (11) In addition to those stipulated in the preceding items, acts that violate laws and regulations, these Terms and Conditions, and precautions established by the Orchestra, and other acts that interfere with the operation of the venue, the smooth progress of the performance, or the appreciation of other spectators.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, from the viewpoint of providing the opportunity to all persons who wish to see the Orchestra's performances, the Orchestra may designate specific performances and give comprehensive permission in advance for some of the acts in each item of the preceding paragraph (hereinafter referred to as "comprehensive permission"). )。
In the event that the Orchestra grants a comprehensive permit based on the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the Orchestra shall notify the fact that the comprehensive permission has been granted and the contents of the comprehensive permission prior to the sale of tickets for the performance.

Article 9 (Prohibition of Customer Harassment)

Visitors shall not engage in customer harassment against the staff of the Orchestra or any of related organizations.
The acts of customer harassment in the preceding paragraph refer to the acts specified in each of the following items.

  1. (1) Physical aggression.
  2. (2) Mental aggression.
  3. (3) Intimidating words or actions.
  4. (4) Requests for a DOGEZA (A deep bow on the ground, usually as an apology or expression of humility).
  5. (5) Continuous and persistent behavior.
  6. (6) Restrictive behavior.
  7. (7) Discriminatory words and actions.
  8. (8) Sexually explicit words or actions.
  9. (9) Attacks or demands against individual employees.
  10. (10) Other acts in which the attitude or degree of the request, behavior, or behavior of the Visitor to the Employees of the Orchestra is inappropriate in terms of socially accepted norms, and the working environment of the Employees of the Orchestra, etc. is harmed by such demands, words and actions.

Chapter 4 Measures for Violations

Article 10 (Refusal of Entry and Exit Measures)

The Orchestra may refuse entry to the venue or remove any person who falls under any of the following items.

  1. (1) A person who does not possess or present a valid ticket.
  2. (2) A person who falls under the grounds for refusal of sale in Article 5.
  3. (3) A person who brings or attempts to bring into the theater any items prohibited by Article 7.
  4. (4) A person who violates or is likely to violate any of the prohibited acts set forth in Article 8.
  5. (5) A person who has committed the act of customer harassment as described in Article 9.
  6. (6) A person who has been notified of refusal of admission by the Group in the past.
  7. (7) Any other person who is deemed by the Group to be unavoidable in refusing entry or expelling from the venue.

Article 11 (Restrictions on Ticket Sales)

The Orchestra reserves the right to restrict future ticket sales to those who violate these Terms and Conditions.

Chapter 5 Miscellaneous

Article 12 (Change of Performance Contents and Cancellation or Interruption of Performance)

The Orchestra may change the content of the performance or cancel or suspend the performance without notice, and those who wish to watch and listen the performance must consent to this in advance and obtain a regular ticket.
In the event that the performance is canceled or interrupted, the refund of the ticket price will be stipulated separately.
If you are unable to view the exhibition due to refusal of admission or removal measures pursuant to Article 10, the ticket price will not be refunded.

Article 13 (Troubles between visitors)

The Orchestra and the person in charge of the venue are not responsible for any troubles between visitors in the venue.

Article 14 (Disclaimer)

The Orchestra and the venue manager shall not be liable for any damages, directly or indirectly, caused by the circumstances set forth in the following items. However, this does not apply to cases where damage is caused by intentional or gross negligence on the part of the Orchestra or its staff.

  1. (1) Damage caused by reasons attributable to the visitor.
  2. (2) Damages related to refusal of sale as stipulated in Article 5.
  3. (3) Damages related to refusal of entry or removal measures as stipulated in Article 10.
  4. (4) Theft, loss, or other damage related to items under the control of the visitor.
  5. (5) Damage caused by the business of restaurants, shops, etc. operating in the venue.
  6. (6) Damage caused by canceling or interrupting the performance due to natural disasters or other force majeure.
  7. (7) Other damages incurred during the attending of the performance.

Article 15 (Handling of Personal Information)

The Orchestra will use the personal information of visitors for the purpose of reserving and issuing tickets, responding to inquiries, and providing performance information. Details of the handling of personal information shall be in accordance with the separately established personal information protection policy.

Article 16 (Governing Law and Court of Jurisdiction)

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Sapporo District Court as the court of first instance.

Article 17 (Modification of these Terms and Conditions)

The Orchestra may amend these Terms and Conditions in accordance with laws and regulations.
In the event that these Terms and Conditions are amended in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph, the Orchestra shall notify the its staff of the fact that these Terms and Conditions will be changed, the contents of the amended Terms and Conditions, and the effective date thereof on the Orchestra's website.

Supplementary provisions

These Terms and Conditions shall come into effect on July 1, 2025 and shall apply to regular tickets obtained on or after that date.
