Born in Tokyo in 1984 and graduated with a degree in conducting from the Tokyo College of Music in 2007, having studied under Junichi Hirokami, Yasuhiko Shiozawa and others. Was awarded 2nd place (which was the highest level with no 1st place) at the Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting in 2006, and since then KAWASE has received invitations to conduct Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Kyushu Symphony Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra among others. He was also the assistant conductor of Pacific Music Festival (2007~2009). Currently Kawase is the Resident Conductor of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Music Director of Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Permanent Conductor of Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa and Goodwill Ambassador of Inabe-city, Mie. (as of April 2024)
Born in Tokyo. He started playing the flute in the fourth grade of elementary school, and won many major competitions in Japan, including the junior high school and high school divisions of the All Japan Student Music Competition. At the age of 15, he gave his first recital and entered Tokyo Metropolitan High School of Arts. In 2008, he entered the flute major at the Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. In the same year, he won the "8th Jean = Pierre Rampal International Flute Competition," which is the gateway to success for world-class flutists. Received the Suginami Ward Cultural Achievement Award. In 2009, he studied in Paris and was unanimously admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieure de Musique de Paris. In 2012, he graduated from the first course of the Conservatoire National Supérieure de Musique in Paris, winning the unanimous jury prize and the special jury prize. In October 2012, he made his CD debut with his first album "Mangekyo KALEIDOSCOPE" from Columbia Records in Japan. The following year, in August 2013, he released his second album "DIGITAL BIRD SUITE" (Digital Bird Suite), and was selected for the special edition of the magazine "Record Art" for two consecutive works. In 2014, he won the Grand Prize at the New York Young Concert Artist 2014. In January 2015, he released his third album "into Love". In 2014, he won the first prize at the New York Young Concert Artist 2014. In the autumn of 2015, he successfully toured the United States in eight locations, giving a recital at the Kennedy Center and his final performance at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 2018, he released a total of seven CDs: "Telemann: Twelve Fantasias for Unaccompanied Flute", in 2019 "W.F. Bach: Duets for Two Flutes", in 2022 "Three Sonatas on Flute", and in 20232 "French Composers". Won the 25th Aoyama Music Award Newcomer Award and the 17th Hotel Okura Music Award. Collaborated with Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic Octet, Orchestre National de France, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Auvergne Chamber Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Pacific Philharmonia Tokyo, Chubu Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, He has performed with orchestras in Japan and abroad, including the Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Symphony Orchestra. TV Asahi "News Station", NHK "New Year's Opera Concert", NHK Radio "Kirakura", "Best of Classic", NHK "Classical Club" and other media appearances are ones that he frequently appeared. Since 2019, he has been an associate professor at Osaka College of Music. Currently, he is active in all fields, including solo recitals and orchestral collaborations, as well as teaching juniors.
