Five young and talented artists selected through auditions held on October 31 are to perform together with Sapporo Symphony Orchestra

Shigeo Genda(Conductor)

In 1979, he entered the conducting major of Tokyo College of Music. Studied under Yasuhiko Shiozawa and Seiichi Miishi and in 1982, he entered the conducting major of Tokyo University of the Arts study under Kotaro Sato and Masahisa Endo. Since then, he has made guest appearances with the Dresden Philharmonic, Slovak Philharmonic, Prague Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, not to list a few, and continues to be active in both concerts and operas. With Genda conducting, Shinobu Sato's concert in the 1994 Prague Spring was broadcast throughout Europe. Genda is currently Honorary conductor of the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he has conducted major orchestras in Japan and abroad and has been well received. He is many experiences as an opera conductor and is highly trusted by singers, such as Nikikai 21, Kansai Nikikai, opera produced by Ken Nishikori, and Shinobu Sato's "Yuzuru" performance. He has been a personality on NHK's FM "Symphony Concert" for many years. Since 2023, he has been teaching as a visiting professor in the Department of Conducting at Tokyo University of the Arts.


近藤 祐希

Yuki Kondo(saxophone)

Born in Sapporo City. He started playing the saxophone at the age of 12. Has won Bronze Prize at the 24th Japan Junior Wind Percussion Instrument Competition and Silver Prize at the 25th Junior Saxophone Competition. He has studied the saxophone with Manami Hiraga, Sumichika Arimura, Sadahito Kunisue, Nobuya Sugawa, and Ayano Fukuda. Took a master class with Alexandre Souillart. After graduating from Sapporo Daiichi High School, he is currently majoring in “Brass, Wind and Percussion (saxophone)” at the Faculty of Music, Kyoto City University of Arts and is in his third grade.


合田 咲希

Saki Goda(flute)

Born in Sapporo City. She started playing the flute at the age of 12 and graduated from the music department of Hokusei Gakuen Girls' High School and the music culture major of Hokkaido University of Education Iwamizawa. Selected for the 26th Japan Classical Music Competition National Competition and appeared at the Sapporo City Rookie Concert in 2018. She completed a class with Jean Ferrandis at the 27th and 29th French Music Academy in Kyoto. In 2018, she moved to France to study at the Conservatoire des École Normales de Paris. Since 2023, she has been working as a junior high school teacher and is involved in teaching the brass band club. She has studied flute with Rina Kakiyama, Hiromitsu Abe, Philippe Lesgourgues, and Kaori Shion.


成迫 萌桜

Moemi Narisako(euphonium)

Born in Hokuto City. She started euphonium at the age of 8. After graduating from Hakodate City High School, she is currently a fourth-year student in the Department of Instrumental Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. Has won the 1st place in the 7th JETA Student Solo Competition Euphonium Senior Division, the 1st place in the euphonium category of the 40th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, which at the same time awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award, the Tokyo Governor's Award, and the Audience Award. In 2025, she performed Horowitz's Euphonium Concerto at the Geidai Morning Concert, and in September of the same year, she performed Jenkins' Euphonium Concerto with The Geidai Philharmona Orchestra, Tokyo at the Grand Prize Concert of Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. She has studied euphonium with Kaoru Tsuyuki and Ayano Iwaguro.


河合 莉奈

Rina Kawai(clarinet)

Born in Fukagawa City. After studying at Hokkaido Asahikawa Commercial High School, she graduated from the Department of Instrumental Music, Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts. While in school, she won the Ataka Award and the Doseikai Award upon graduation, Grand Prix in all categories of the 1st All Japan Student International Solo Competition, 2nd prize (highest prize) at the 11th Japan Clarinet Competition. Appeared in "Untitled Concert" and participated in the 2023 Seiji Ozawa Music Academy. At the Tokyo University of the Arts Morning Concert conducted by Kazufumi Yamashita, she performed Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with the Geidai Philharmonia Orchestra, Tokyo. She studied clarinet with Mami Kuroiwa, Hidemi Mikai, Michiyo Sato, Florent Heau, and Paul Meyer. She was 2024 Aoyama Music Foundation Scholar and Seki Arts Foundation Short-term Overseas Training Scholarship Scholar.


清水 柚衣

Yui Shimizu(piano)

Born in Iwamizawa City. Completed a master's degree at the Hungarian National Conservatory. She is a member of the 3rd generation of the Hokkaido Future Challenge Fund, Hokkaido PR advisor and Hungarian Government Scholars. She was selected for the first year of Japan Company Scholarship Students in Hungary. Currently, she is a part-time lecturer at Sapporo Shiroishi High School and at Sapporo Nishi High School. She is the organizer of Yui Shimizu music class. She was selected as the finalist of the 2023 Weiner Leó Chamber Music Competition and in the same year, she won first prize at the 7th Danubia Talents International Music Competition. She was also awarded in 2024 the 23rd Hokkaido Chopin Student Competition General Division Gold Prize together with Hokkaido Shimbun Award. In the same year, she also won the 28th Asahikawa City Newcomer Music Festival Grand Prize, and a year following in 2025, 46th Kushiro New Artist Concert Superintendent Award (Grand Prize). After being taught by Miyuki Mokko and Koji Okamoto, she studied under Tomoko Yokomichi and Klara Wurtz.
