Tomakomai Shimin Kaikan opened in October 1968, and would be closed in March 2026, after 58 years. Sapporo Symphony Orchestra performed on the stage for the total of 111 concerts, and this concert would be the last by the orchestra in this historical building. The orchestra visits with Mo. Kentaro Kawase, our Resident Conductor, presenting waltz and polka composed by Johann Strauss II, and with Ms. Chimari Uchiyama, clarinet from Tomakomai, presenting a concerto.
