C.P. E Bach is the second son of J.S.Bach and has been even more famous because of his colorfulness, beauty in his melody and familiarity. C.P.E. Bach is known to have had influence towards Haydn and Mozart. Haydn's work "Water Music" is performed during the boat ride by King at that time. The second half of the program is Brahms Symphony No. 2 which will bring you to the huge nature of Austria- all with the baton of Mo. Pommer.
Max Pommer was born in Leipzig, studied at the Academy of Music and completed the doctorate course at the University of Leipzig. As for the conductor, he studied with Hermann Abendroth and Herbert von Karajan. He has been Artistic Director of the “New Bach Collegium Musicum,” Principal Conductor of the Leipzig Radio Symphony Orchestra (MDR), and professor in conducting at the Saarland Academy of Music. He was the Chief Conductor of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra in April 2015 to March 2028. Max Pommer appeared in prestigious festivals and orchestras such as Salzburg and Schleswig-Holstein, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, and SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg. As for Japan, he has collaborated with orchestras namely Yamagata, Gunma, Japan Philharmonic, New Japan Philharmonic, Yomiuri Nippon, Nagoya, OEK, Kyoto, Osaka and Japan Century. The list of Max Pommer’s discography is long and varied. 22 recordings for Capriccio with orchestral works by Bach, Handel and Debussy, symphonies and early operas by Mozart for Berlin Classics, the complete symphonic works of the Finnish composer, Rautavaara and works by Kurt Weill for the Finnish label Ondine, and many works by Eisler, Dessau, Schönberg and other contemporary Germany composers for Eterna. The CD of Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang, live recorded at July 2015 inauguration concert with the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, has quickly gathered much attention.
