Change of the program – 640th Subscription Concert (as of June 19)

Due to governmental request on State of Emergency re: COVID-19, all the ticket sales for the 640th Subscription Concert are stopped as the numbers reached 50% of the hall capacity.

A few left for Sunday, September 12. (as of Sept., 6 12 noon) 【Ticket Sale Stopped】(as of Sept., 7 2pm)

There will be no ticket sales on the day of the concert- for both Sept 11 and 12)

【Concerts held during State of Emergency (August 27~ September 12)- Entry Limitaton】(As of August 27)
Japanese Government has announced the State of Emergency from August 27 to September 12.
Concerts during this period will take place following the governmental regulation; that is maximum audience number below 5,000 and within 50% of hall capacity. As the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra is following those rules, all the concerts are to be held as planned.
Kindly understand in case that the ticket sale exceeds 50%, additional ticket sale will be terminated.
Those guests who have already purchase the tickets, can enter and sit on the seat indicated on the ticket.

【Matthias Bamert has arrived.】 (as of August 23)
Mo. Matthias Bamert, chief conductor of the orchestra who will be conducting the 640th Subscription Concert scheduled on September 11 and 12 has arrived in Japan and will spend 2 weeks of quarantine as requested by the Japanese Government.
We all look forward in seeing you at the 60th Anniversary Subscription Concert.

640th Subscription Concert scheduled for Saturday, September 11 and Sunday, September 12- Sakkyo 60th Anniversary Concert- was to present Brahms’ German Requiem, which we postponed in 2019 due to COVID-19 situation. Having made a deep consideration of performing this work for 2020, we regrettably had to announce that it is not possible. The program will be changed. Mo. Matthias Bamert, Chief Conductor of the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, will be present for this concert, agreed on 2 weeks of quarantine, and orchestra office is now working for his entry with the related authorities.

【Program changed to】Schubert Symphony “Unfinished”, Bruckner Symphony No. 7 with Matthias Bamert, conductor

Single tickets for this concert will be on sale from July 21. Commemorative ticket for 60th anniversary is to be on sale. (as of June 19)

New Subscribers for 2021-2022 Season – application will be accepted from Wednesday, March 3.
If you are our subscriber, you can enjoy the concert at the same seat every time with discount. 『Sakkyo Subscribers』

Following the governmental regulation regarding “Event Limitation,” the concert will be held with severe care against COVID-19. Details on the prevention action will be announced on this website after making a close watch on the COVID-19 status.
