It is our honour to announce Maestro Tadaaki Otaka, who has been with us from 1981 as the resident conductor and music advisor, from 2004 as Music Director, and from 2015 as Honorary Music Director, will be Conductor Laureate as of April 1, 2026. Maestro Otaka has led the orchestra to its highest peak with the success of the 40th anniversary UK Tour, the 50th anniversary of Europe Tour, the 55th anniversary of Taiwan Tour, recording of Beethoven and Sibelius Cycles, and other projects.
