Ms. Mayumi Ohira, former concertmaster of Sapporo Symphony Orchestra has been selected to receive Award for Person of Cultural Merit (Regional) by the Agency of Culture 2021.

Award for Person of Cultural Merit (Regional) is given to a person or an organization who showed the distinguished service in promoting art and culture, protection of cultural assets and promotion of regional culture. The award is presented by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and started in 1983.
