Government of Hokkaido has announced Hokkaido Cultural Award 2020 be presented to our former Concertmaster Ms. Mayumi Ohira.

Hokkaido Cultural Award was established in 1949, to be presented to those who made notable efforts and contribution to promotion of culture in Hokkaido.
Ms. Mayumi Ohira has made an outstanding contribution to music and art in Hokkaido by serving 21 years as concertmaster for the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, and other various activities including and not limited to visiting and performing number of volunteer & support concerts at the areas suffered by the earthquakes as well as giving lectures and writing articles.
