【658th Subscription Concert】
Year 2024 is the year to celebrate the 200th birth of Bruckner, and Bamert has selected his most loved Symphony No. 6. His selection of “Night” is Britten’s Serenade, one of the composer’s masterpieces however not often played. We need the best tenor and horn for this work, and Mr. Bostridge is one of the greatest Britten lieder of the century. Mo. Bamert, when he was the director of the Lucerne Festival, invited Mr. Bostridge to appear in “Matthäus-Passion” which was the great success. Mr. Bostridge spoke on Mr. Allegrini, “He is the best music partner with full of imagination,” and Mr. Allegrini spoke on Mr. Bostridge, “He has a voice of angel and at the same time voice of demon; can be beauty but poisonous. Looking forward in working with him in Japan.” The 658th Subscription is a beautiful program by Mo. Bamert, transition from dusk of Britten to the world of Bruckner.
