The Sapporo Symphony Conductors at the moment are Shuntaro Sato and Yuki Kakiuchi, and both actively visited towns in Hokkaido presenting concerts including those for younger generations.
As both Sato and Kakiuchi are to resign in March this year, the Sapporo Symphony Orchestra would like to announce the 26 years old young virtuosi, Shurihito Matsumoto is to be the successor.
Matsumoto has studied under Tadaaki Otaka and Ken Takaseki, maestri closely connected with the orchestra. He has conducted our orchestra last July with Beethoven Symphony No. 2.
