   Details of audition and how to apply are as follows:

1.Vacancy
Double Bass (tutti)

In principal, applicants must be under age of 35.

2. Preliminary Audition (Recording audition)
Repertoire should be recorded in the listed order ① to ⑤ with track numbers on CD-R.

(1) Solo works with piano accompaniment

Dittersdorf: Concerto for Double bass in E major (notation D major) Schott
① 1st movement with cadenza (Gruber)
② 2nd movement without cadenza
Place a track number at the start of cadenza (1st movement)

(2) Orchestra Study

Mozart Symphony No. 40
③ Bar 114, 3rd beat to bar 138
Beethoven Symphony No. 5 3rd movement
④ Beginning to bar 78
⑤ Bar 137 to bar 218 without repeating


[Precautions]
All the recording must be in ORCHESTRA TUNING (for solo works, including piano must be in D major for the 1st movement and G major for the 2nd movement).
Score for the piano can be from any publisher.
The recording must be made within 6 months before the date of application.
(1) needs piano accompaniment.
The recording device must be CD-R (music recording only)
Confirm the content before submitting. Avoid low volume or any echo in the recording as this may affect the judgement.
How to apply / Deadline
Send the following documents together with your recording to the address noted in 6 by post.
Mark your name on CD-R.
The documents and recording are not returnable.

[Live Audition Repertoire]
(1) Concerto
As in the preliminary audition
(2) Orchestral study
(Details will be announced to those who passed the primary audition.)

All the performance must be carried out in the orchestral tuning.
The orchestra will arrange a piano accompanist, but the applicant can also attend the audition with his/her accompanist. In this case, any fee incurred will be burnt by the applicant. More details will be informed on a later date.
There will be an interview for those who attend the final auditions on the same day.

4.Salary and other benefits

Salary 191,400 JPY (age 22) to 247,200 JPY (age 35)
Additional bonus twice a year
Other benefits: housing, family, cold-area, commuting and instrument.
Social welfare, unemployment insurance and retirement allowance are also available.

5. Employment starting date
Preferably October 2018 but negotiable
There will be 6-month evaluation period before official employment.

Horn (Associate Principal)

In principal, applicants must be under age of 40.

2. Preliminary Audition (Recording audition)
Applicant must record and send the following repertoire in the order with track numbers on CD-R.

[Audition Repertoire]
Instrument must be full double horn and both B-flat single and Descant Horns are not allowed. Please note the manufacture of your horn in regime.
(1) 1st movement from Mozart Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat major K. 495, including cadenza
(2) 2nd movement from Mozart Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat major K. 495

(2) R. Strauss Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat major Op. 11; 1st and 2nd movements
(3) Orchestral study (Details will be announced to those who passed the preliminary audition.)

The orchestra will arrange a piano accompanist, but the applicant can also attend the audition with his/her accompanist. In this case, any fee incurred will be burnt by the applicant. More details will be informed on a later date. There will be an interview for those who attend the final auditions on the same day.
