   Details of audition and how to apply are as follows:

1.Vacancy
Violin (tutti)

In principal, applicants must be under age of 35.

2. Preliminary Audition (Recording audition)
Repertoire should be recorded in the listed order with track numbers on CD-R.

[Audition Repertoire]
(1)Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3 or No. 4 or No. 5; 1st movement with cadenza (with piano accompaniment) Can select one of No. 3, No. 4 or No. 5.
(2) One of the following concerti, the 1st movement only (with piano accompaniment)
Paganini Violin Concerto No. 1 in D major op.6
Mendelssohn Violin Concerto in E minor op. 64
Lalo Symphonie espagnole op.21
Beethoven Violin Concerto in D major op.61
Brahms Violin Concerto in D major op.77
Saint-Saens Violin Concerto No. 3 op.61
Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor op.26
Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D major op.35
Sibelius Violin Concerto in D minor op.47
Bartok Violin Concerto No. 2
Prokofiev Violin Concerto No. 2 in G minor op.63

[Orchestra Study]
(3) Beethoven Symphony No. 9 2nd movement (2nd violin) from start to the first note in B
(4) R. Strauss Symphonic Poem "Don Juan" (1st violin) from start to the 13th note in C

[Precautions]
The recording must be made within 6 months before the date of application.
(1)and (2) need piano accompaniment, and introduction can be deleted.
The recording device must be CD-R (music recording only)
Confirm the content before submitting. Avoid low volume or any echo in the recording as this may affect the judgement.

How to apply / Deadline
Send the following documents together with your recording to the address noted in 6 by post.
Mark your name on CD-R.
The documents and recording are not returnable.

1.Resume (if you are Japanese, use a standard resume form.) Please write in your music experience.
2. Recording information (note the date and place of recording in A4 format)

Result announcement for the recording audition
Result will be sent by post no later than Sunday, September 10, 2017.
3.Live Audition (Secondary and Final Audition)

Final Audition by all members of the orchestra
Tuesday, October 10, 2017 in the afternoon (planned)

Live Audition Repertoire
(1) Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3 or No. 4 or No. 5; 1st movement with cadenza Applicant must perform the same piece as in his/her recording audition.
(2) Orchestral study (Details will be announced to those who passed the primary audition.)


The orchestra will arrange a piano accompanist, but the applicant can also attend the audition with his/her accompanist. In this case, any fee and / or expense incurred will be burnt by the applicant. More details will be informed on a later date. There will be an interview for those who attend the final auditions on the same day.

4.Salary and other benefits

Salary 191,400 JPY(age 22) to 244,900JPY (age 35)
Additional bonus twice a year
Other benefits: housing, family, cold-area, commuting and instrument.
Social welfare, unemployment insurance and retirement allowance are also available.

5. Employment starting date
Preferably January 2018 but negotiable
There will be 6-month evaluation period before official employment.
